K2 Medical Research is seeking a dynamic and experienced Physician and Community Engagement Manager to lead our team of K2 Research Navigators and Community Connectors within a region. This role is pivotal in promoting clinical research as a care option, enhancing patient access to innovative therapies, and fostering strong relationships with local physicians and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a background in clinical research, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for community engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Oversight
    •  Manage the K2 Research Navigators, ensuring they effectively prescreen patients in clinical practices and promote clinical research opportunities. 
    •  Supervise the K2 Community Connectors, guiding their efforts in branding, marketing, and community outreach initiatives.
    • Oversee the triage process to evaluate patient eligibility for current and future studies, ensuring adherence to protocols, understand site’s book of business and study protocols.
    • Ensure the team performs clinical tasks, such as memory testing and vital signs measurements, accurately and consistently.
  2. Metrics Management:
    • Develop and implement metrics to evaluate the performance and impact of the K2 Research Navigators and Community Connectors.
    • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and report on the effectiveness of outreach efforts.  Meet monthly revenue goals.
    • Oversee the tracking and updating of data systems in place to ensure real-time accuracy across databases.
    • Ensure accurate entry of pre-screen test results, medical conditions, and medication details into the database, and monitor data integrity.
  3. Contractual Agreements:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local physicians and healthcare providers to facilitate collaboration in clinical research. 
    •  Negotiate and set contractual agreements with physicians for participation in clinical research studies, ensuring mutual benefit and compliance with regulatory standards.
  4.  Community Engagement
    •  Design and execute community outreach events to increase awareness of K2 Medical    Research and its clinical studies. 
    •  Cultivate partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders to enhance community relations and promote research opportunities.
    • Ensure accurate entry of pre-screen test results, medical conditions, and medication details into the database, and monitor data integrity.
  5. Education and Training:
    • Provide training and support to Research Navigators and Community Connectors to enhance their knowledge of clinical research and effective communication strategies.
    • Educate physicians and community members about the benefits of clinical research participation.
    • Ensure the team performs clinical tasks, such as memory testing and vital signs measurements, accurately and consistently.
    • Conduct training sessions for new team members, promoting best practices in patient interaction and data management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and negotiate contracts effectively.
  • Experience in data analysis and performance metrics management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (foreign MD, MPH, or similar) preferred
  • Proven experience in clinical research, community relations, or healthcare management. 
  • Previous experience leading a team.
