K2 is seeking a part-time/contract Pharmacist to join our K2 Nashville team in support of our clinical trials research. The

Pharmacist provides direction and oversight of pharmacy clinic activities.  The Pharmacist provides guidance, training, and oversees all pharmacy operations to ensure that all drugs are logged, tracked, and dispensed accurately and appropriately and guarantees ongoing compliance with all FDA and DEA regulations in clinical research studies including study specifics sponsor requirements and company's SOPS.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reconstitute drugs and document accurately and appropriately
  • Maintain patient safety and the integrity of the pharmaceutical study data
  • Receive and log incoming shipments of study drugs
  • Count and stock drugs accurately and maintain drug accountability logs
  • Provide quantitative data via Interactive Voice Response System (IVRs)
  • Dispense study drugs to authorize personnel as required
  • Interact and discuss drug issues with Monitors
  • Maintain all pharmacy equipment, schedule equipment calibrations, and ensure all equipment stay within specified ranges for temperature and humidity
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all FDA and DEA rules and regulations and study specifics sponsor requirements
  • Manage staff and interns in the Pharmacy department
  • Conducts performance evaluation of Pharmacy staff
  • Forecast yearly budget for Pharmacy department
  • Administer infusions and injections of study drug trials
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Expert knowledge of GCPs, FDA, DEA regulations and guidelines as they apply to the dispensation of investigational product in a clinical research environment.

• Advanced knowledge of clinical research procedures. 

  • High level of mathematical aptitude

• Experience with IV Therapy

• Experience and training in aseptic techniques

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong time management and planning/organizational skills

• Handles confidential/sensitive information accurately and appropriately       

• Ability to multi-task.

• Participates in planning and implementation of study activities as it relates to the pharmacy and dosing of investigational drugs to study volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Licensure and Certification; IV Therapy Certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years pharmacy experience 
  •  Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
