We are seeking a Lead Pharmacist Technician for our clinic in The Villages, FL. This role provides direction and oversight of pharmacy clinic activities and staff; develops and manages the departmental infrastructure, staff performance, and ensures compliance; initiates proactive consultation with clinic management, business development and client representatives concerning pharmacy services in the clinic; and assumes primary responsibility for the visibility, reputation, and quality of pharmacy services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establishes, approves, and maintains Pharmacy procedures and policies to support management operation guidelines related to investigational product (IP) and their administration to study volunteers.
- Ensures adherence to all FDA regulations, state and federal laws and maintains documentation of such. Develops departmental infrastructure.
- Provides consultation to clients concerning future studies as it relates to pharmacy procedures and IP preparation and/or equipment for IP delivery. Assists with study feasibility from a pharmacy perspective.
- Analyzes the performance of the Pharmacy in terms of cost effectiveness and productivity.
- Manages departmental budgets. Ensures Pharmacy Services meets or exceeds annual financial goals for clinical site.
- Provides direction and communicates departmental goals and objectives; Ensures alignment with clinic goals and objectives.
- Establishes a positive working relationship between the pharmacy department and all other departments, teams and project managers to ensure a total environment of teamwork throughout the course of a trial.
- Participates in planning and implementation of study activities as it relates to the pharmacy and dosing of investigational drugs to study volunteers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of GCPs, FDA, DEA regulations and guidelines as they apply to the dispensation of investigational product in a clinical research environment.
- Advanced knowledge of clinical research procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide direction, leadership and mentorship to staff.
- Strong strategic planning skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician Licensure and Certification
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years as a licensed research pharmacy technician) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience.
